A Journey Through Turbulent Times
During the Great Northern War, an armed conflict between Sweden and Russia from 1713 to 1721, St. Peter's Church suffered significant damage. The church bells and most of the movable property were stolen. The pastor and the chaplain fled to Sweden, and only the chaplain's assistant remained in Siuntio. It was not until the 1730s that repairs to the church could finally commence after the ravages of the Great Northern War.
